Final Blog Post of the Year-

It has been a wonderful year for the Hoosier Mustang Club.  Our club continues the fun activities that have been a mainstay for the club since 1978!  We gained new members, see the report on this in the December version of the Hoosier Pony Times newsletter, and we have many shows, cruises, Cars and Coffees, and social gatherings that were available for our club members to do.  But in all we enjoyed the fellowship of like-minded Mustang enthusists from within and outside our club.

Our final event of the year was this past weekend with the annual Christmas luncheon held at the Seasons’ Lodge and Conference Center in Nashville, IN.  We had a wonderful meal of turkey, chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salads and desserts.  We also had great fellowship with members of the club as we exchanged Christmas gifts.  Many thanks goes out to member Terry Thomas for organizing and MCing this event once again for us this year and for Joyce Artis for taking pictures again for us!  I know that everyone always looks forward to this each year!

So as 2025 draws to a close, we wish everyone that reads this blog a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Bring on 2026 and may the Mustang continue to roll down the highways of history!

Members of the Hoosier Mustang Club celebrated our annual Thanksgiving Meal this past Saturday at Villas of Stonecrest Event Center building.  Thank you goes out to President Jim Skalski for arranging for the use of this facility.   We had a wonderful meal with Turkey provided by Joyce Artis, and Ham provided by Shirley Bozell, along with many different vegetables and casseroles provided by other club members. Then the desserts were very tasty.  Activities Coordinator Dave Sell presented a video summary of our club activities.  This video is now available on our website under the Media tab.   Our club has a lot to be thankful for!!!

Blog Post -  Members of the Hoosier Mustang Club met this past Saturday for our annual Fall Foliage Tour.   This year we drove from our meetup point at Master Power Transmission to the Tulip Train trestle in near Bloomfield, IN.  It was a very scenic drive that club Treasurer Frank Bayles led us on. We had a few sprinkles along the way, but nothing to spoil the ride.  Once we arrived at the trestle we enjoyed taking pictures of this amazing artifact of engineering.  Still to this day trains run across this 2,295 foot long trestle.  After our stay at the trestle we then hopped back in the ponies and drove to Bedford and ate a large lunch at the buffet at the Golden Corral.   A great way to end our year of car cruises and shows for our club.

This past Saturday the Hoosier Mustang Club had our last Cars and Coffee Cruise-in event of the year.  It is hard to believe that summer is over and the weather will soon be getting cooler and our major club activities, like car shows and cruises will be wrapping up for the year.  We had a great turn out for the last Cars and Coffee.  We thank Ishmael and his helpers for again providing breakfast donuts, sausage and gravy, coffee and other drinks for our C&Cs this year!   Our monthly club meeting is coming up this Wednesday at Chicago Pizza, where we will discuss our Car Show, and look forward to the remainder of activities of the club for this year.

What a weekend it was.  Our 1st Fall Festival Car Show Pony Cruise on Friday was a big success.  The drive was great, the cars were running good, the food was awesome, and the people were the best.  It was great having some individuals from outside our club join us on the cruise.  It is an activity that we need to consider doing again in the future.

Then the Car Show was a great success!  We had 59 registered cars/trucks.  We ended up giving $2000 away to Love Chapel and Salvation Army combined.  Everyone in the club worked hard to get everything ready and done during the show.  We heard alot of good comments about the license plates and the trophies.  Some liked that the trophies were not huge and they would be easy to display in a garage.  We will be posting all of our pictures on the website in the Media tab.  Thank you everyone for all your hard work!  Now rest up and enjoy the nice Indian summer this week.
