Kyle Weidner’s 1965 2+2 “Fastback” is this month’s spotlight car.  Kyle bought the car in 2003 as a bare shell and restored it over the next 4 ½ years.  He built the car to be as modern as possible but not lose the looks of the 65 fastback.  In doing this a fuel injected 5.0 and 5 speed transmission from a 91 Mustang was installed along with four wheel power disc brakes all new suspension and 17” wheels.    The color of the car was changed from sea foam green to a late model Mazda “Winning Blue” and blue and white pony interior was added.  Kyle enjoys driving the car in club activities and taking it to car shows along with his dad.  This winter he plans to add late model Mustang seats recovered in the blue and white upholstery and change the exhaust system on the car to make it more enjoyable to drive.
